I spent most of my life making my own rules and doing my own thing. And during pretty much all of that time I was convinced that actually following Jesus wasn’t for me. Don’t get me wrong, I knew who Jesus was and I didn’t want to go to hell or anything. And I didn’t mind asking him for a little help now and then either. But following him? As in trying to be like him and do the things he did? No way! Honestly, things would have probably stayed that way for the rest of my life if God hadn’t intervened.
